Battlefield 4: EA Confirm Sequel

Battlefield 3’s launch has not been long ago and its DLC has not yet been released but EA has already confirmed Battlefield 4. EA president Frank Gibeau did not hesitate to reveal this fact at a recent keynote at the University of California. Attendees were ready enough to tweet about the announcement.

Of course, players should not be surprised because Battlefield 3 is EA’s fastest seller with five million copies already sold. In what may be interpreted as damage control by some, an EA spokesperson later said that the EA president “was speaking broadly about the Battlefield brand – a brand that EA is deeply passionate about a fan community that EA is committed to.” Still, I think that fourth installment is in the horizon.

DICE executive producer Patrick Back said that “This feels like day one now. It’s exciting. The whole Frostbite 2 thing has opened up a big landscape ahead of us so we can do whatever we want.” This statement makes you wonder if Battlefield 4 will be launching fo current or future generation of consoles. DICE at least built Battlefield 3 using its Frostbite 2 engine, which is pretty new. The engine has been designed to ready the studio for the future and for consoles that will follow the current PlayStation and Xbox.

So with all the talk about new engines and new consoles, where does Battlefield 4 factor in? Should we rely on the recent confirmation of the game? I guess the second question is still easier to answer. I think that Battlefield 4 will be coming out around next year if Battlefield 3’s sales figures should be the basis.

bfbc2vietnamBFBC2 Vietnam has a fifth multiplayer map waiting for you! To unlock it, perform 69 million collective team actions on your platform.

This remastered version of the map Operation Hastings unlocks as soon as your platform reaches 69 million combined team actions. Every team action made from the launch of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam counts. Make sure you contribute from day one to unlock Operation Hastings as quickly as possible!.
BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY 2 VIETNAM
GET READY FOR A WHOLE NEW WAR
Skimming the treetops in your helicopter, Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" blasts through its loudspeakers. Down in the jungles and rice fields below, the enemy is waiting for a chance to take you down with their T54 tanks and RPG launchers. Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2 just made the journey to a new place and time -- back to the 60's and the infamous Vietnam War.

Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2 Vietnam is a content-heavy expansion for the game that has sold more than 5 million copies and has been called "a better game than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" by The New York Times.
At the heart of this expansion lie four distinct, brand-new multiplayer maps based on the Vietnam War. Each map brings a new gameplay experience and fresh visuals, with characteristics such as foxholes, tunnels and dense jungles from where the enemy can launch surprise attacks. Also, 15 classic Vietnam-era weapons and 6 vehicles are available from the moment you go online.
All four multiplayer game modes from Battlefield: Bad Company 2, including the genre-defining Conquest Mode, will be playable in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam. The expansion is integrated with the full game persistence, so no matter what theatre of war you participate in, you will continue to level up your soldier as usual.
To set that unmistakable 60's atmosphere, the audio team at DICE has recorded all-new voice-overs for both sides of the conflict, based on authentic dialogue from the Vietnam War. On top of this, a rocking soundtrack with 2 hours worth of time typical tracks gives the expansion a truly characteristic sound.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is all-out multiplayer warfare at its absolute finest. With this new expansion, the battle moves to tropical Vietnam for a new chance to settle the score: Which team has the biggest skills, the smartest tactics, and the tightest squad play?

Battlefield 3 PC Leaked
Written by _MoV Extraordinare_
Monday, 17 October 2011 12:44

We’ve been criticised for reporting only console leaks of triple-A games, thus favouring the PC platform. This is not the case as today, we bring you news about a major Battlefield 3 leak. DICE’s highly anticipated PC version of Battlefield 3 has just been leaked to various torrent sites, 12 days before official release.
Console versions are safe – for now at least. The leaked PC version is 9.96GB in size and its single player portion is fully playable. We can obviously assume that someone, who works at a sales retailer, got a copy and leaked it but why on Earth did the retailer brake the street release date? This is really something that needs to be addressed, plain and simple.
Battlefield 3 is slated for release on October 28th. It’s really sad that pirates will be able to enjoy it first and we don’t know how this leak will actually affect the PC version’s sales. Lets hope that it won’t.
